Big congratulations to Agrupamento Escolas Freixo, an innovative school in Portugal lead by Luis Fernandes. On January 20, they opened a space for personalized learning with the presence of Portuguese Minister of Education, Mark Sparvell from Microsoft Education and more than 150 visitors.
The Personalized Learning Space will turn into a place for training other teachers, to lead classes there, and to enrich the curriculum activities.
Also, it will provide a possibility for research and development of innovative educational activities.
“With this space, we are providing innovative and suitable methodologies, we will increase our students and teachers’ ability to promote 21st-century skills necessary to the success of learners, such as collaboration, knowledge construction and real world problem-solving and innovation,” explains Luis Fernandes, director of Freixo School Cluster.
Freixo was among the very first schools that started testing, piloting and improving Lifeliqe at our super-early stage.
“We’re happy to have had a very fruitful collaboration for years. The school leads the way towards the transformation of education and bridges the gap between the education system and the edtech industry. Thanks to that, startups and companies like Lifeliqe can develop learning tools that are based on the every-day experience of teachers and students. We believe in Freixo School Cluster and its leader Luis Fernandes!” says Martin Bukacek, Lifeliqe’s Community Shaman.
It would be great to see more places where students can investigate, interact, create, develop, share and present their knowledge. And of course, get as much lightbulb moments as they can.
